We Saw Rare's talent in new Kameo screens, Now see EA's talent

I REALLY TRUELY thought that the graphics *might* improve with direct feed because that BK vid was such low quality but man was i wrong! I mean come on it doesnt look better than NFL2k series. Look at the sideline, why is it more empty than current gen? I mean come on EA!!! At least try to save your name..

What? That looks spot on...

No no, the render target was on spot. It got everybody excited. ;)

Maybe they were talking about Madden 2007?:???: This is digging huge into EA's rep. They need to show more next-gen Def Jam and next-gen Fight Night. Please stop showing Madden. :devilish:

Well, these DO look better than the BK adds!

That said, I hate being right on stuff like this... but I called "BS" when the EA rep said many did not want to show the CGI "artists impression" because the real version looked even better.

THAT was their response to the, "Nice CGI... but where is the game?"

Oh yeah, we are showing CGI to keep expectations low

Btw, while NFL 2K series was very good (owned a few) Madden was always my favorite (less a few early PS1 Gamedays) and I have usually purchased it every year. The entire NFL exclusive and next gen standards really does, IMO, put them under the spot light. Some would give them a free pass... in my book anti-competitive licensing holds you to a higher standard. ESPECIALLY with my favorite genre/franchise.

I own more Madden games than Mario, Zelda, flight sims, all fighter series, racing games... the only genre I have more games in than the Madden series (not just football genre, but the Madden series) is FPS. So far next gen looks like a MAJOR let down, especially animation. Madden got a LOT better over the years last gen--mainly due to competition from the NFL 2K series. I checked back on the NFL2K models and I must say I like them better than EA's next gen ones. :(

Ps- I am sad to hear the passing cone is leaving Madden. One of the few truly great innovations that corrected a ton of passing problems IMO. Hard yes... but it also was more real.

The animation from that video looks like the same mo-cap stuff they use in the current games. No hint of real physics so the questions about whether EA would push the hardware (the Xbox's additional cores or the PS3's SPEs) to implement physics remain.

They are proud of the modeling of the stadia and 3D crowds and yet, the graphics of the main players appear to be below par compared to other next-gen games.

I heard the Cone will be in the game. Actually, I can do without it but they're not going to drop it for at least a couple of years.

We all know that Madden 2007 will be the real game with added physics and all. It's just that we have to wait an extra year. 2007 is the year when all the ESPN stuff will really get kicked in anyway so not really surprised that they took the dive this year.

Well, come next year 360, PS3 and the Revolution will be out. So it makes sense that 2006 (which can be considered the cuff of Next Gen Hardware and Current Gen Hardware) would have a release of Madden thats not as visually impressive.

It's called your bread and butter franchise. That's one of many reasons why EA decided to not go with a real next-gen Madden. My problem that I have with them is more why even make a 2006 Madden if you're not going to put your heart into it.

It must be painful for those Tiburon devs knowing that they can get more out of the system and not being able to though. I feel bad for them.
