It seems like there is general confusion about the difference between upscaling and reconstructive techniques, and how they different from native rendering. Very interesting situation. It's probably too difficult to explain to the average person why they're different, and how they work. Is it dishonest to market the product as 4k? I don't think it is. How do you market the box at 4k if the avg person only understands native resolution to be true 4k?
