Unreal Championship uses which Unreal engine?

Someone in the Doom III thread said that UT2003 gives Doom III a run for its money. UC runs on Xbox at 30fps with occasional slowdowns according to various online reviews of UC, so that means it should be able to handle Doom III with no problems, right? BTW, has anyone played Unreal Championship?

UC runs like crap on the Xbox, but thats really just because of a sloppy Developer. It could have run it much better than it does.

All Unreal games use the Unreal Engine :) There's only one, but there's three distinct generations. The engine is updated constantly.

Classic generation (original Unreal + other games using Unreal Engine at that time).

Tournament generation (Unreal Tournament etc.)

Warfare Generation [Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Championship + other new games using the Unreal Engine (although those are usually heavily modified)]

Uh-oh. Maybe Paul is right after all that the cpu in Xbox is crappy.

No, UC runs somewhat poorly because of the unbelievably powerful Karma physics engine that sucks CPU power like nothing else. :)

Running any Unreal 2 based game on a sub-2GHz CPU is just asking for pain.

the Unreal Engine is just very CPU dependant, if the Engine had been more optimised to run more off the GPU, then it would not have been a problem.

Want some reassurance? Splinter Cell uses a highly Optimised version of the Unreal Engine.

Hm, tell me again how the Gamecube, with an even slower CPU, can skin AND ragdoll enemies on the CPU at 60fps without slowdown, hehehe! (Metroid Prime RULES! Hehe!)

*G*

Even though it would be reasonably minor (well, should be), the unreal script interpreter may actually be quite expensive. If the scripts were all written in C++ then there would be a speed up. How much though I don't know. What I do know though is that Quake 3 players used to use DLLs instead of the QVMs for extra speed.

Because Metroid Prime's physics engine isn't even remotely comparable to Karma.

For example, in MP, when you shoot crates they don't react, they just blow up after a few shots. In a Karma-enabled crate, it'll be moved in a realistic mannner. :) Same with steam.

So basically, you are in fact agreeing that the CPU is crappy because its resources are insufficient of running UC good on Xbox. :p

Where is Paul? I know you're out there. Don't you want to gloat about how you were right after all about the xcpu being crappy?

Relatively speaking it is crappy compared to a P4 3GHz or AthlonXP 3000+. Hudathunkit? :D
EDIT: typo

It is crap. The GPU makes up for it though, which is what I suspect Msoft will do again for Xbox2.

Average CPU for the time + the best GPU avaliable, seems pretty good for me.

The Karma engine is capable of bringing a 3GHz P4 with HT to its knees. Wanna call a 3GHz proceesor crappy?

I havent had any trouble with my 1.5 ghz.. UT2k3 and Raven Shield just need a lot of memory, playing it with less than 512megs is hopeless.
