Tyranosaurus a big girls blouse?

Last night Australian SBS television screened a documentary suggesting Tyranosaurus wasn't the prowling tower of destruction as populary beleived, but more like an really, really big vulture feeding off carrion.

It's suggested that it's round tooth profile is not that of a predator and it's bony little girly arms were useless in assisting to bring down any prey.

Insightfull re-evaluation of flawed doctrine, or just a case of trendy revisionism to get your head on TV?

Who knows?

Personally, should I ever meet a twelve meter long lizard with a head the size of a small car and a biting force calculated at over 18 tonnes, I won't be chasing it of with rocks self assured in the knowledge it's just a really, really big vulture.

The mainstream view on this is that T. rex is both a scavenger and a hunter. This is not unusual among predators, IMHO.
