Tried my Driving Force Pro on GTHD.

Awesome news on the GTHD update! That was pretty fast.

Sorry for no replies lately. I'm in the middle of moving.

I've gotten around to making a make-shift setup in the living room now, and can confirm feedback is a-ok. ;) I've just set some times on the reverse track with it (which aren't so heavily contested as the others), with the MX-5 and Integra, I think I came in third (1'19.5 and 1'24.0 or something). The high-scores seem to take a while to update though.

Anyway, I have all the settings on as much realism as possible, no ASM or TCS, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Realism in the handling and feedback seems to have been improved considerably. Especially the part where you can oversteer and spin-out is a nice addition ... ;) (it was much harder to do in GT4)

Edit: wow, the Evo IV is much improved. Now it is a fun car to drive, with great balance and oversteer. This was one thing they got wrong in the previous games imho, the setup of the 4wd seemed to be geared towards rally no matter if you were driving on gravel or asphalt. Great improvement! After a few laps I also seem to have gotten the no 1 time, but by the time that's updated probably not anymore. :D Still, at least it seems I don't completely suck.

Edit: in the Evo IV on the more hotly contested normal direction I got 20th.

Nice Arwin. Do you have motorstorm or F1 you could test out? (motorstorm after the patch, and maybe pal F1 demo?)

There is no wheel support in the F1 demo, only in the full game afaik.

One cool thing I just noticed is that you can control the XMB with the wheel controls now too. :) As far as I can tell, Motorstorm doesn't support the wheel yet either. I think they said they were going to announce something about that shortly though, so that may still be coming in the near future.

EDIT: been driving the Ferrari with no assists. :p And to think that it still has soft race tires under it ... with sports tires it must be even crazier. I'll stick to trying for a clean lap with this now (actually got a first place already). Great fun, and looks spectactular in replays, as you can see me losing grip a fair few times. This car just looks like the beast it really is ..

Got it down to a 1:11.049. Still plenty of room for improvement. It's at no.1 so you can probably look at it in about 20 minutes if you like ... :D

It's not quite 'legal' in the sense that I cut through the grass a bit at some point. But I didn't hit any walls. Will do better in the future, have to get under that 1'10.

I tried the F1CE demo with my Drving force pro. The support is sub-par. The pedals were not working, you had to use the x- and square buttons for acceleration and braking. Shifting was through the R/L buttons on the face of the wheel IIRC (not easily reached), the stick and the paddles at the back of the wheel couldn't be used.

Turning the sterring whell to turn the wheels of the car was however working, but not using the full range of the steering wheel.

I'll see if I'll have time to try MS later today.

The support in the GTHD demo is great as far as I can tell, I have improved my times by a few seconds from the times i hade with a pad. I'm still a long way from the top times though and the tuned cars have too much power for me to handle.

Imressive times Arwin!

Thanks for the impressions guys. The F1 PAL version goes along with what I've been hearing. Weak support for FFB and only 240 degrees of rotation. Hopefully they can fix that. Good to hear about GTHD 2.0 though.

Looking forward to trying out Colin McRae (confirmed to support FFB) and Burnout 5 (not really sure, but I think the last gen games suppported the wheel). Hopefully Motorstorm gets the fix soon too as well.

Don't tell me you are expecting to see 900 degrees of rotation support in an F1 game ... ;)

lol I'm just saying thats what I've been hearing so it's expected. Didnt mean it so much as "ONLY" as in it should be more, just expected. ;) But hopefully they can fix the "weaker" feedback.

Not to say Bad_boy didn't, but I'm pretty sure I didn't know that F1 cars were different in that respect (come on there has to be others who didn't know !)

To be honest I didn't know until I played the demo using the cockpit view.
Not much of an F1 guy myself.

I tried my GTFP with the Pal version of Motorstorm this weekend. <brag>I didn't have time to do it when I said I should as my GF came over.</brag>

I couldn't get the break and accelerator pedals to work which pretty much sucked and there was no FF as far as i can remember either.

But i must restate that in GT:HD it really kicks ass. I have been learning to get the feel of the grip from the steering wheel much better since my last post in this thread. I still have a long way to go though as I still am about 6-7 seconds behind the top times.
