The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

Oh, BTW< something very weird happened. I went into an abandoned hut and when I came out my Roach, my dear cockroach coloured trusty steed, had turned into a Black Stallion !!! I was so freaked out that the hut might be magical or there might be some nasty little character around this place that I kept searching around for 20 mins but found nothing ! Now Roach is permanently Black and it bugs me out cos he has been brown since May 19 till now and been with me during the whole journey and now he is a completely stranger to me :runaway: !

I am still not sure if it was a bug or something really happened inside that hut :O !

I still don't understand Axii?

How do I make people fight for me?

I have the sign sloted, but the enemies just get stunned...
DO you have that skill slotted? You need to put it in a character slot to make it active.

THis brings me to my question actually. There a re lot of unlocks which just read : Igni does 50% more dmage or such, later in the skill tree. Do these things also need to be put in a slot to work?

For example: I have Igni blast slotted on my character tree, do I also need to put the increased Igni Damage skill in a slot? Or is it passive? Cos all later unlocks are like that . I don't get it. These things sound like passive buffs or do we need to waste a slot on them too?

Yeah, I have it slotted.

I also have all signs slotted as I think you need them all. But it would be great if this is not true! Anyone knows the answer to this?

Finished HoS, took me 25 hours, great DLC and well worth the money. This is how it should be done.

Hell, I hate when I'm too busy to play games! Especially if I can't play W3 when I want to ...
Hopefully this weekend I will find few hours to progress my adventures a bit more as I've obtained ore for Runewright and just need to bring it back to him.

I thought I'd be ready for more Witcher 3 but I'm still pretty burned out from the main game. The story was far too long for me and during the last quarter I was completing story missions just because I wanted to finish the game, not becaue I was having fun doing it.

I definitely will come back to Witcher 3 in future though.

I HoS merely and elaborate questline or are there some nice side dishes as well? (god bless the current state of game reviews. I'm more likely to come away with an idea of what the reviewer's grandmother likes to do in her spare time than with a concrete idea of what the game in question is actually about)

In Hos there is:
  • One main questline that is very solid with very likable and believable characters the likes of which many games wish they had in the main game let alone a $10 DLC
  • New content, as in armors/weapons/lore items/gwent cards, many new question marks in Velen (near Oxenfurt) and new enemies
  • New enchanting system with runemarks which basically add some cool new abilities in your weapons and replace runes
  • Some new side quests which you can immediately identify by the blue font instead of the typical yellow
  • 25 minutes of new and memorable OST

Overall nothing feels familiar with the main game as well, there's nothing "been there done that" in this expansion in that regard. I would say without a doubt that i enjoyed the 25 hours i spent with HoS more than the 77 hours i spent with DA:Inquisition.

Please master of the Witcherverse : answer my question !

I have this game since a while now, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to get into so far. I've maybe invested around 3-4 hours of play time so far, but I think one of the issue is that I am not playing it regularly enough. Also, the problem I have is that the game is just too big, overwhelming. I just seem lost. My latest gripe for example is, that I keep running into mud zombies or whatever they are and they easily kill me. I also don't have much gold (around 400 I think) and my equipment seemed to be broken, so I needed to find a smith to repair them - the repair costing me around 60% of the gold I had. All the while, I'm not quite 'getting' where I am supposed to go in the game to progress to build up skill etc. It says I need to follow the 'scent' and use my witcher skills (one of the L buttons, yeah I know), but I've somehow deviated from where I was supposed to pick up that scent and now I am utterly lost. And the map is just so big and confusing.

Does anyone have some general advice, fool proof tips on how I can get into the game?

Like, how do I know which battles are safe to enter? Which confrontations to engage?
Where do I find more gold (except excepting quests)
Is there a point in picking up all the plants and herbs I see?
Any good battling ground?
What should i buy? What shall i sell?

Note; This isn't the first game of this sort I'm playing. I actually played quite a bit of Skyrim (though that took a long time too till I finally got into it), but Witcher just seems so much more overwhelming and complicated to me. :(

Well, I felt like a had to quote myself to give what I'm about to post a better context.

I have progressed well with the Witcher. It's been rather a challenge getting back into it, but I think I finally got the hang of it. I realized looting is an essential part of the game and since I've tinkered with saddles and adding capacity to Geralt, I have been looting anything and everything like crazy. I actually also set the difficulty to easy to get over hard passages, but now that I think I've got a handle on most combat situations (even attacking groups of enemies) I have set the difficulty back to a higher one. I'm now at level 16 and have just reached Skellige. Loving it.

Gonna be difficult to play anything else for a while I think.

One question though; One side quest failed because I think I took too much time with ending it. Or was it just circumstance that prevented me being able to complete it (like if some quests are in contradiction to another because they are by different people on the same individuals?). Is there a time limit on certain quests and does it say so anywhere? I've been picking up board notices left right and center and naturally, this has been adding to the list of available side quests. Should I take care to do them one by one or is it okay to have a few open at the same time? I don't want to fail them... Or are failing some of the inevitable anyway?

Nice to hear you have gotten a hang of it :) Some missions are time or area sensitive, but I would say that there are very few of those. In general you can do them as and when you like.

Pick up everything, thats the way to go. A lot of them will get done while just exploring and not really working on them. The quest failing thing is rare and happened only twice in my whole playthrough and only one was something that I didn't understand. The other was a known repurcussion from a choice i made.

Have fun, best side quests ever !

I understand that there is a choice to be made to either end up with Yen or with Triss. What if I want Keira? She's seriously hot. Okay, never mind Keira - but back to Yen and Triss -

I'm a bit disappointed by how soon you have to decide between them. I just got to Skellige and the thing with Yen is seriously progressive. Is there a way to delay the whole decision making process? Stupidly enough - I already did the ball thingy with Triss (and yes, I kissed her which I think lays the foundation to the later romance), but then I was off to Skellige and there Yen has been all over me. Adding even more to my dilemma, I did the Djinn mission only to find out that it consequently leads to the tell her you love her bit - which is either, yes you do or no you don't. What happened to option 3 - "I've got a headache?" or "did you say something"? Am I right in understanding that the decision of this question will lead to the overall romance being shaped later on? I wish I could somehow go back in time and not do this mission until I get to know both a bit better. I think I prefer Triss, but don't want to give the boot to Yen just yet...

Any advice?

PS: I already saved over my last progression point, so I can't go back by loading a different save unless I want to lose a day worth of playing...
