The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

Yeah, really looking forward to this. I've reinvigorated my interest in cyberpunk but watching Appleseed Alpha last
Well they have the engine, so a more small team can give us a new Witcher in two years. ;)
Well the world is built and right there. A smaller team could produce some new missions to fit in that world and build some new annex locations.

Stumbled upon this article from 27th April by Lazy Gamer, which is their experience with four hours of the Xbox One version of the game. It's more about in general than it is specific to the Xbox One version, but they describe the pre-gold build on Xbox One as "spectacular" which is encouraging for console players. :yep2:

Again, lots of emphasis on how good the side quests are and how different side quests in an area begin to paint a larger picture of life there. Naff side quests are the bane of RPGs and as much as I like Skyrim, once you're done with the core Dragonborn line, the Empire vs. Nords line and Guild progression quests, side quests get very dull very quickly.

Here's a video giving you an idea of how big the map is in the Witcher 3.

I must say, I didn't expect the map to be this huge. It feels pretty intimidating now.

*Edit* Especially with the transition at ~1:06

Difficult decisions... I don't know what to do.., I promised myself not to get this game first day, just because it wasn't in my plans since I didn't complete The Witcher 2 yet, but I've read the article and I am so hyped, and featuring the side quests picturing the life in the region where they take place, things like that..., are so original..

This part of the article surprised me a lot.

Walking through the streets of Warsaw, the PR head at CD Project Red explained to me how important The Witcher is to the people of his country. It’s a franchise held up as a national treasure – a gift that the president himself gives to visiting dignitaries. To the public, it’s a national symbol – a piece of literary and digital art that they can proudly point to and say “this came from home”.

Yes, at first it was like "well, the map doesn't seem to be extremely large, right?". But then...

Well you could finish a play through, or just catch up with one the retrospectives that have been posted a couple of times here.

20% bigger than Skyrim so, yeah, big

30k plus lines of dialogue, non-shitty quests, 36 possible endings, skills trees, full time of day and weather environment, no loading screens during play. I am so looking forward to exploring this land.

Reading that makes me wonder why I didn't pre-order the game.

Me to wonders the same!

I've pre-ordered it a year ago! But I also have played both Witcher 1 and 2 and to be honest I only started Witcher 1 after getting it on Steam sale in 2011! Back then it was already outdated from technical point of view but after few hours in the game it really didn't matter!
Witcher and Mass Effect were the only games I ever played which kept my wife interested enough to sit by my side and watch how I play for the story line :) And believe me she is one of these anti-gaming persons who never played a game on PC or console for more than 15 minutes at a time, even Kinect Dance is not for her :p

I had pre-ordered on disc with Amazon but found out yesterday it's only (only!) a 31Gb install so I cancelled that and pre-ordered a digital download on PSN instead. But if I change my mind I can cancel right up to the day before it unlocks.

Reviews are due out next week according to CDPR so plenty of time to decide if I want this game.

Who is the PlayStation girl in leather trousers? I like the cut of her jib

Not enough fire particles. It needs to be at least Killer Instinct amount. :yep2:
Probably not specialised in Igni - the fire sign. Wow, I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about! :nope:

Actually, can you set environment on fire?

I don't know. If you check out the video below at around 5:25 in it looks as though bushes are about to catch fire but the video cuts away. I guess probably not as I've not read anything about this.
