Are you sure about that, did you click on the in video link how to connect a console
you need a capture card, x split software, 3d player software and a pc

Scam Alert.

It doesent need to be scam automatically. If they integrate small ARM into it and push it to to run VR cinema mode by default [or by press of a button], then they can take any 2D HDMI stream and reproject it onto a virtual screen in front of a player.

That kind of feature needs to be supported by ALL virtual reality devices and platforms anayway... but will this headset support it.... I dont think so. :D If they did, they would already talked about it.

It's unknown, and I can't seem to find news on this device anywhere. Too bad 'cos it sounds as an exciting alternative.

The creator of that might be tearing their hair out over not keeping up with it. A crystal ball would be necessary in these cases.

It wouldn't be the first time a virtual reality device for consoles was meant to be and never saw the light. Like this VR glasses from 2007, the iWear VR920:

Notice they call it Virtual Reality googles!! Is it that hard people? That's what I would want, something that doesn't abstract me from the world.

I could be playing naked and not notice it with VR headmounts, or having people around, etc.

It's real in the end. It has some pretty cool features the competitors don't have, in fact. There is a very interesting interview here when they mention where they are unique:

The question everyone is asking is whether the Totem will be an improvement on the Rift. What really differentiates you from the competition when it comes to the hardware?
We have surround sound, hardware lens distortion compensation, hypermetropia and myopia compensation, onboard cameras and console support.

There are plenty of other great VR products in the works such as the Cyberith Virtualizer. Have you been talking to any of these guys during development?
We talked with lots of them during the VR Mixer at the GDC 2014.

On pricing:

Pricing is an important factor which will decide whether VR takes off this time. How competitive do you think you can make the Totem when it comes to its price point?
We share the same core technologies as the other competitors in that field and thanks to the mobile industry, it as made those technologies affordable. The Totem will be just a little more expensive than the Rift since we have added features and hardware.

They have a Facebook webpage too:

How are they going to transform PS3/Xbox 360 games into Virtual reality games though?
