"The Conbini 200X" is an Xbox 360 game to be released on Mar 30 in Japan. It's a convenience store manager simulator and a port from the PC version "The Conbini 4", a Sim series / Tycoon type game. The developers are HAMSTER and Masterpiece (the original PC version by Masterpiece, and PC screenshots). It supports network play over Xbox Live. With the Xbox 360 power it can simulate 50,000 people simultaneously at its peak.

FWIW, the PS2 version due released on Apr 27 looks prettier probably with more dev resources allocated.

The both versions are priced equally, 6090 yen ($51.95) for the retail price and with discount on this particular internet store (Rakuten) 4930 yen ($42.05).

The content looks like an Xbox Arcade title but the price suggests retail. Does the Japanese text allude to anything Xbox Arcade related?

No, it's a retail game sold at usual game shops. Here's another shop that carries it (Sega Direct)

While other Xbox 360 games are priced 7140 yen this game and another Japan-only mahjong game are priced lower. Does Live Arcade have a complicated simulation game?

Why didn't they just use the PS2 assets? Or are those XB360 wrong? they look like a GBA game! That can't be right :???:

Good to see that the japanese devs are putting that 4Gpix/s fillrate and 48 unified shading processors to good use...

I had a game for my Amiga back in the 90s that looked exactly the same. "Sim City", it was called.

That's the worst development effort ever. The thing look like a SNES game (MODE 7 and all), at best.

I think it's just a straight port of the PC version.

This looks awesome! Especially the ps2 one. Reminds me of Pizza Tycoon which I loved dearly.

As long as the simulation is interesting, the graphics only have to be good enough not to be annoying.
