Temporary Internet Files on WinXP

Hey folks.

I noticed that my "Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files" folder was nearly 4 GBs. I changed my Internet Explorer settings to have a maximum of 1 GB cache and then purged all cached files. When I look in "Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files", I see only a few things from Yahoo! and no folder yet when I check how much disk space is being used by the folder Windows reports 2+ GB and 33 folders! I can't see these folders from the command prompt nor from Windows Explorer. Ideas on how to purge this crap?

Thanks,

It's a hidden Folder, named Content.IE5 (yes 5 even if you use IE6). Just enter it manually and you'll see the folders.

Is there anyway to get Windows or IE to clean up this crap itself? Seems pretty silly to tell it that you want a 1 GB cache and then have it keep 3 GBs of stuff :p

From IE window

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced

scroll down and under "Security" enable "empty Temp internet folder when browser is closed".
