Azbat,
It's good with competition and catering to new demographics, but Infinum would never have prospered, for many reasons. Their business model simply wasn't viable, and neither was the company itself considering the more than shady people standing behind it.
The ONE guy with any credibility working for them, the ex-MS/xbox creator guy, promptly lost whatever he had by happily joining in on the lawsuit against [H].
Problem with the Phantom is it isn't a console, so it doesn't play console games. Instead it is a PC that plays PC games, except it isn't really a PC either; it's just pretty slow PC hardware in a custom box, and it wasn't really destined to be that cheap either. Especially not when considering the monthly subscription. So you got a PC that isn't good at anything, that can't be used for anything other than play PC games, and on top of it all it will cost you a sizeable chunk of change every month.
...So why not simply get a REAL PC and play the exact same games, probably faster/better too, and no monthly fees? It may cost a bit more up-front, but that will quickly pay for itself by not having to subscribe to anything.
Infinum was a money-scam, plain and simple. Just look at Roberts' track record, that should tell you as much right there.
