I guess ND could use FXAA in UC3.Makes sense...Its cheaper and it has better stability than MLAA.Maybe they can polish it even more.

I integrated FXAA yesterday afternoon. Painless integration, impressive quality, AMAZING performance. @TimothyLottes is a
hero.

If you haven't at least evaluated FXAA (GPU anti-aliasing), drop everything and try it out NOW (it won't take long). tinyurl.com/lottesaa

Sounds good. If they can achieve good AA quality, ND can use the free SPU time for the elemental effects.

Yeah you'll probably have to talk directly to one of ND's own. Most that work for the other first party studios probably wouldn't be familiar with what's going on with their game either.

How the hell could such a filter reduce contrast of the image?? That'd require modifying every pixel, or at least the majority, and no such tech does that...

Yeah, that's what I've meant, something that's basically a smarter edge blur filter shouldn't modify anything else on the image, otherwise it'd be destructive and basically wrong.

It can change contrast locally, sure - but that's something different and when we talk about the contrast in an image we generally mean the entire thing, all the pixels.
