Silent hill 3 WTF!!!

Yes, May in Europe. The game was complete a month ago anyways, I have no idea why they are delaying the release worldwide.

I wouldn't wait, I will buy the Europe release on May (with the help of my friend in UK) and will play it on my PAL PS2 (I bought it for PAL games) and enjoy it. (the only region that got left out by me is US NTSC PS2 as I do not have any interest in most US games).

SH3 Japanese version will be out in July, a 2 months delay.

Just bought the Silent Hill 3 (local supermarket often has games early for sale :) ).
PAL version has no extra disc like SH2 had. No soundtrack disc either, just the game disc. There is an advertisement inside for a separate soundtrack disc.

I was a little disappointed that the game was not packaged in a fine cardboard box like SH2, and the box design is not as stylish. A grainy Heathers headshot and text Silent Hill 3, very simple really, and not nearly as cool as the stylish SH2 pal boxdesign.

Haven't had yet time to try out the game, but browsed through the manual, and seems there is no prog scan option, the options are more or less the same as SH2.

Good thing the game will be nevertheless great. I was just hoping for some extras.

yeah the lack of proscan was confirmed a while ago... how about 60Hz?

The manual has no mention of 60Hz. (Edit: there is 60Hz at startup)

The demo that came with OPSM2 had no 60Hz option, and it runs without borders.

In 'Extra Otions' (opens after you complete the game Edit: No, they are selectable from the beginning) there is a 'Display Mode' setting that 'Adjusts the screen sharpness, and the 'Noise Effect' setting.

Did it ask you during startup ?

BTW, are you from UK ? I wonder if my friend in UK can also get it early.

A BIT LATE NOW, THE GAME IS COMING OUT TOMORROW, MIGHT AS WELL WAIT... (sorry for the caps)

No, I'm not in UK, I'm in Finland.

Yes, there was 60Hz (NTSC) option at startup.

Will not play the game until it gets darker....

cool...

i will let u guys know how the game is in progressive scan, and if it is as good as i think it will be, i seriously recommend you buy the Blaze VGA adapter, cause if there is a game that can benefit from VGA output, this is is... :D

SH3 seems to be a little harder than SH2.
I was only about half hour into the game, and already used my ammo many times (I want my pipe!), and am short on energy and 'potions'.

Those 'dogs' aren't so easy to avoid either.

A great game, graphics are quite incredible, especially in cutscenes. The character faces are so lifelike. Though they could do something about those arms... :?
Can hardly wait 'til night when I'll get to play this further.

You US people may be luckier if you get some extra for waiting longer. Europe got a extra dvd and stylish 'limited edition' packaging with SH2, when it was released later than US and Japan, if I remember right, US and Japan got just the SH2 game.

One suggestion that I can give you - if you don't like impossible puzzles don't set them on 'hard' level. In the demo, the very first puzzle on hard level required you to make such an impossible leaps in logic that it ended being quite illogical when the solution comes up... I'm seriously thinking the whole puzzle was just badly translated or adapted from Japanese to English.

Btw, yes. US is getting soundtrack CD for free.
