Show Support for Mizuguchi at His New Online Journal

Not much love for him on this board, it seems :\

Mizugutchi is the man. Rez and SC5 are two of my absolute favorites, and I can't wait to *finally* play SC5-2. The english version is coming out today packed in with SC5, that I think also never saw the light of the day on PS2 in USA.

i've been looking for a pre-owned cheap copy of Rez, but i cant seem to find one....
a sequel to Rez with DTS sound (DD for Xbox) and a new engine would absolutely rock...
oh and a longer game too...

Speaking of which, I think that may well be the end of SC5. I'm quite sure Sega holds all rights to that title...

For Tetsuya Mizuguchi, I think that if he has any problems getting a publisher to agree with some idea, he can consider SCEI. SCEI has published a lot of original and innovative products this generation - Ico, Flipnic, Chaindive, Kumauta, Mojib Ribbon, etc. - not all of which are good nor million-sellers. Seems that they are quite tolerant of creative ideas and not too strict with requirements for "million-selling titles".

Bringing up old-threads is a bit of a pet peeve of mine, but I'll do it anyways rather that start a new one...

And quite a few more... I'm quite the fan of Sky Odyssey, Sky Gunner, Operator's Side, and Mojib Ribbon (Masaya Matsuura is my hero :p )... Anyways 1up.com has an article on the various titles that SCEJ has published...

And speaking of Mizuguchi, here's a short talk he's hosting discussing Tomato's upcoming PS2 title...

Nice links, archie. ^_^ Lots of weirdness to try to pick up. And an interesting look at this "wordimagesoundconfusion" thing... :p ;)

The Japanese Xbox division would be a great fit too. The pressure to have a game make back its investment isn't a concern there, considering the Xbox's position in Japan. Instead, the goal is to develop something unique and creative enough to somehow spark consumer interest in the platform - the freedom to be creative with the hopes that it can open a big market. The situation would not be unlike what drove him to look beyond the current mainstream trends when at SEGA, back when they were a first-party company.

They just need one good Gundam game. Trust me. :D
