Shenmue 3 details...question for Xbox devs.

Even I can observe the flaws in the game lazy8s. The tedious investigative portion of the game is somewhat drawn out to the extent that even I don't want to go through with it. All the things you mention that people may like, they also may hate. The story is one of the best I've ever seen in a videogame, but some parts of the game need to be reevaluated before a sequel is ever released. I would love to see the next few chapters get released, but I'd much rather see it stick to the storyline and have relevant types of gameplay that everyone would like to play. I'd love to see the series evolve into an adventure type game while maintaining the same great story, fighting mechanics, and game engine. The way you control the character in non fighting modes and various other modes need to be completely redone, and using the analog to actually control the character. I have gripes with the game that is a great series so far and shouldn't be left unfinished. I also think that the game engine would be useful for AM2 to use in other games it makes specifically for consoles.

Logan, there wouldn't be a need to dump $20 million more into the game. I'd bet an amount of $10 million would work fine, but in the end I think the marketing of the game needs to be handled by SEGA much better.

So you don't like great plot, fabulous character development, unbelievably detailed characters, great graphics, detailed environments, etc? No wonder you like Final fantasy games...

You know what? Fuck you, at least I can get things DONE in Final Fantasy without having to run around for three hours trying to find out stuff about 'Charly' or whatever his name was.

When there's no fighting, Shenmue bores me to tears. And the controls (especially the "running") leave something to be desired...

I'd love to see, say, a Shenmue movie, as I do find the plot interesting, and yes the graphics are good (though if you can't admit that FF6 had great graphics for SNES, and FF8 & 9 had great graphics for PSX, I feel sorry for you), but, meh, the frame rate is blah for the most part and good lord did they ever waste a lot of polys on Ryo's hair. :p

Just how much money is Sega losing on Shenmue? And if they're losing a lot, why the fook do they keep producing them even though there's only about 100 extremely rabid fans out there, trying their best to sound like 1 million...
