They actualy believe that flash games will someday reach the audio visual quality of consoles?
I dount the experience will ever be matchable
Maybe not flash but browser games in general? Absolutely. See O3D and the like.

According to the article they have even bigger plans beyond SATURN and Dreamcast.
There's SEGA's software libraries for the GBA, NDS, PSP, PS2.
Later when technology allows they could add GC, XBox, Wii and beyond...
Wait Wait Wait Wait Wait
Are you telling me that Sega is seeing such a response from their Wii VC and the $20 for 200 game complilations released (for every piece of hardware out there from the PS3/360 - PSP) - they've just got that many sales that they've said "Hey - we need to release these game for sale on the PC too!" - that's what you're telling me?
It seems like Sega is hitting thier core demographic already on plenty of consoles by reselling their 20-year old games...why would they need another venue?
And why would we need other hardware to run Sega Games ever? The PS3/360 can emulate even the DC games just fine...and newer arcade games are just being released as standalone titles...(like Virtua Fighter)...
This idea makes 0 sense to me...

Their old school games are already on PC. Look at Gametap.
Maybe I'm missing the trick here, but that sounds like an admittance of defeat to me. SEGA believe they are going to make more money with $35 annual subscriptions from a few million at best subscribers, than they do with their current console titles? That's what, $100 million a year. Do they not even make that with the Wii titles etc.? And how long do they think people will subscribe to play these old titles? Surely after a couple of years, that well will have dried up. If they want to continue as a software company, they need to be creating software. And if they're doing that, the existing and future download distribution methods seem a better market to me, as established, whereas a proprietary service will need to compete with these other services for attention.$120 a year vs $35 year.
Yes, but what is the reasoning for not releasing brand new games on PSN and XBLive!, and all the other distribution things going? This is like Sony BMG saying they're no longer going to release on iTunes etc., instead creating their own proprietary store. And then Warner Brothers saying they'll no longer support DVDs/BRDs and Netflix services, instead creating their own proprietary download service.Again, it doesn't stop at DC & SAT, according to the article SEGA's future plans for the service are far far grander. There will come a day when brand new games are developed exclusively for PlaySEGA and not for propriety boxes that sit under televisions.
