Seasonal names I wish all Americans would forget

I remember days as a kid when it got so hot in the midday sun that the bitumen on the road would melt a bit and go sticky - years after it was layed.

I remember absolutley running across a beach once to dive into the water because the pure white sand was so hot it was buring my heels.

I remember i used to burn all sort of things (paper, insects, grass) with a magnifying lens and the sun..... Awwwwww those poor insects would just go PSSSSSSSSSSSSST.... so much fun!! errrrrrrrrrr........

I've lived in Jokkmokk for half a year. (It's above the polar circle.) At first, the sun wasn't visible at all, and when I left it wouldn't go down at night. It sure affect your sleeping patterns when there's sun 24h/day.

A cousin of mine worked in Antarctica for a couple of years. After a winter spent there they thought the Antarctic summer was so warm by comparison that they'd walk around just wearing shorts.... yet it was still only 0 degrees!!!!!

Summers up here are actually pretty good. We had 30C+ for weeks last summer. Unusually hot, but 25C is pretty common summertimes.
