Imagine at some point being able to 'record' your dreams and play them back later. Or to conceptualize something in your head and have a tangible video result of your vision. Or of course, we could go Orweillian (sp?) and .gov could steal your thoughts while you sleep (in a huge MRI machine.)

Wake me when they ACTUALLY framegrab peoples' thoughts, rather than re-create out of original material what framegrabbed data might look like.

What's your problem? The video database is used as reference material for generating the visualization, they're not simply looking up the actual video that was being watched. This seems a perfectly viable approach to me.
