Hmmm...it kind of seems the RV250 (aka R9000) was a flop. I mean they had to bring back the R200 (aka R8500) as the 9100 and now the 9200? They might as well have just saved the money developing that new chip... I guess it might have saved on costs a little bit (for OEMs), but obviously the demand for the R8500 was just higher.

No, the "9100" is the old 8500 stock (they seem to have botched the 9000 introduction with regards to their 8500 inventory).

The 9200 (if it is the RV280 as we theorize) is the RV250, "modified" for AGP 8x...the design of the RV250 was not wasted.

There's lots of OEM systems in England that now use the ATI 9000/PRO that used to have GF4MX's in them.

Its the default option on a number of HP/COMPAQ systems at the moment as well - they are likely to shift a fair number.

However, ATI did miss a trick with RV250 in my opinion. It should have been AGP8X from the get go.

The 128MB 9800s are supposed to be out in March. The 9800 SuperPro and 9600s are April, though.
