Russian lake drained; Amerika responsible

Officials in Nizhegorodskaya region, on the Volga river east of Moscow, said water in the lake might have been sucked down into an underground water-course or cave system, but some villagers had more sinister explanations.

"I am thinking, well, America has finally got to us," said one old woman, as she sat on the ground outside her house.

Well, if the US can cause the Asian tsunami with an underwater H-bomb, draining Russian lakes is small potatoes.

I bet the lake was actually drained by the last Balrog, who's been lurking in the cave system for thousands of years and now is preparing to emerge and wreak his vengeance upon the world. This makes more sense then the senile old woman's theory.

Seriously now, I wonder how extensive that cave system is. It'd be sweet to explore it and see where it leads.
