Hehe. So what the hell happened to Chaperone? Seems to me that PS3 as a system hasn't been fully announced, but there doesn't appear to be anything missing from the specs besides the I/O processor. Where's the "self-shadowing" helper dealy that was in that patent? Where's Axsider? PEACE.

Perhaps it isn't for the final ps3 or perhaps the south bridge is a ps2 on a chip and it will help with shadows ;-)

Maybe Cell is Chaperone? Axsider talked about "a little help" for the GPU. Obviously how much help Cell could give would be down to the developer and how much power they wanted to trade off for graphics versus other things..
