Revolution Predictions

Hi,

I am really psyched about Rev because I have this vision of what it might be.

The controller will have a display, batteries, be wireless and have storage. Games that you download from the back-catalogue to the Rev should be downloadable to the controller (apart from the 'main console') and NES, SNES, GB, GBC and GBA games should all be emulated and playable on the controller when it isnt hooked up to the Rev. So that you can just take those games with you.

Now that would be cool and all, but I hope for more. I hope that for this controller Nintendo will ship a 2d game engine (to the devs) specificly for games on the controller. The controller will then download games and levels from the regular Revolutions games you buy (a sort of companion game, mini game). Then the save games will be synced and so when you are on the road you can take a part of those Rev games with you.

I imagine playing a RPG like FF. In those games you regularly have a large pool of characters to chose from but you only play it with 3 or 4. So I would like to take those characters with me on the controller and level them up on my way back and forth from work.

Or put challenges on the controller that will unlock extras on the Rev games.

Of course they would need to make the storages secure, encrypted. And it would be probably be cheaper to have a modified GBA rather than something that can emulated all of those systems. But this is my wish.

I hope I was clear enough :)

Isn't this basically the same thing as GBA/Gamecube connectivity? It sure sounds like that's all you really want is the ability to use your GBA as the Revolution controller.

No :) It is way different because having this as a part of the console will make the support for it stronger. And having the possibility of downloading old games to it is also adds to the system as well as taking parts of the games with you without having to buy another game and another system.

But that was partly where I got the inspiration for this idea.

Also I would like it to be more advanced than the GBA as a controller with more buttons and atleast one analogue stick.
