We also have the corrected life-to-date install bases for the U.S. The PS2 through November was at 35.8 million users. Very close behind is the GBA with 34.3 million. In the more modern battle of the portables, the DS stands at 7.6 million versus the PSP's 5.7 million. The Xbox 360 has sold 3.4 million units in the U.S., and the newly launched Wii and PS3 come in at 476K and 197K, respectively. Along with the Wii console, 270K Wii remotes and 153K nunchuks were also sold.

They actually dropped 360 LTD by 350k to 3.4M through November. MS certainly dosen't have a huge lead.

I also thought it was interesting to see the HD DVD add-on numbers (42k). I wonder if they sold through the entire supply...

that woul be scary low. If MS have shipped ~10 M units, so retailers aroud the world have +7Millions units in theirs hands.
I guess somebody is lying, or someone is overly optimistic and the other one is conservative.
Or Ms do better than I expect in Europe.

They didn't drop anything. They simply added up their own previous monthly totals wrong somehow. NPD screwed up and said 360 was at USA LTD 3.8 in the original gamedaily story, it was actually at 3.4 LTD as anyone who follows the numbers knew. They subsequently corrected the story. That's all this is. This is not some kind of revision of 360 sales. It's a correction of a simple error.

MS certainly dosen't have a huge lead.

After Dec LTD USA figures will prob look like:

360 4.6
W11~1
PS3 .6?

I'd say that's pretty substantial. Considering consoles typically sell ~200k month the rest of the year, it'll be difficult to make up in any reasonable timeframe, even if you assumed 360 sales stood still. Particularly by the challenges facing PS3 (price, manufact problems) wii would have an much easier time.

This is just numbers for the US, has nothing to do with WW. As discussed on this forum many times, NPD is somewhere 80% of the real picture.

I don't follow the number, so thank for the info
So Ms seems to have sold at most 7 millions units. less scary.
the whole shipped/sold have turned to be confusing lately.
