Resistance 2 to utilize deferred rendering

I am not sure, but it appears that it's only some effects that are deferred, not the entire rendering system.

OMG!

Seriously, look, this presentation has been discussed in various threads. It's not like using some form of deferred rendering is big news that requires a separate thread with a lot of capitals.

And since the virtues and vices of various degrees of deferred rendering have been discussed plenty of times in other threads, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a mod will close this one ... The only reason to let it exist is if Resistance 2 were to use a form of deferred rendering that is new or interesting in some other way, but then I think it would have been picked up on already.

Next time maybe just post in the Resistance 2 thread?

The document (which btw is already being discussed here: link) says:
"Deferred effects are one frame behind, so effects attached to moving objects usually should not be deferred."

I'm guessing it's used for shadows on static world geometry.

Yep, I'll lock it. Discussion on the tech level is better held in related threads. The capitals in the title are also attracting far more attention than the matter warrants.
