Hey guys , I have a q9650 @3.8ghz with 8 gigs of ram. I'm maxed out on ram and don't want to spend more on ddr 2 ram.
My gf has a phenom II x6 and i can clock it to 3.5Ghz easily . So i'm going to take over my gf's pc and give her my stuff until i buy a bulldozer system.
She has 4GB of ddr 3 1600. What ram should i be looking at for that platform that i can also move over to bulldozer and not affect bulldozers speed ?
I want to buy 8GB 2x4 dimms that way i can buy another set of the ram when i upgrade and have 16GB but on my gfs pc I can enjoy 12GB right now.
Its mainly to help with rendering 1080p video. Vegas can start to use alot of ram as videos get up in size.
