Ram issue

My friend gave me a GIG of ram and since I installed it my PC has been getting BSOD, so I ran Memtest and there was no errors, so today I decided to take a stick out and see what stick the I get the BSOD, but when I was reading the ram details one stick had lead free pc 4200 and the other was just PC 4200, my question is, could the lead free ram be causing my problems or is it some thing else?

Lead-free was soldered at higher temperatures and the pins/pads have slightly different electrical properties, but there should be no difference effectively. Could be that the RAM's with lead-free connections are more prone to damages, having been exposed to higher temps. But that would really be a bad process on the manufacturer's side, which shouldn't be the case nowadays.

If you have more than 1 stick of RAM, you should test them one at a time with memtest. Failing to do so may mask errors.

It's also possible that your motherboard just doesn't like that stick of ram

I've seen MemTest be passed, but that still happen.
