PSN weekly updates

It's an emulation? OK, I guess they didn't want to spend too much time developing an old game.

But I guess there's a new SF game coming out too anyways.

Here's a question ; I read that PSN Cards are out in US ... Are we able to use them in EU PS Store or they are region locked too like add-ons ?..

If memory serves me, you'll need to get PSN cards for the specific region you want to buy something from. Check out Play-asia for Asian PSN cards. Not sure about where to find EU cards (outside of Ebay), however.

I think you can only use a US PSN card to upgrade your US PSN account.

As far as I am aware, the EU PSN cards haven't been launched yet.

Decent update! I bought the Super Stardust upgrade stat - Endless mode is great, should have been included in the original release, but I guess they wanted to experiment with DLC like this on PSP. The leaderboards for that game work now by the way, I tried them again somewhere last week.

Apparently, the U.S. gets this little thing called Castlevania Chronicles this week, as well as some MGS themed Sackboy stuff and such (the latter comes to Europe probable next week). If I see the full list somewhere I"ll post it here.

As for Home, there's a lot of stuff happening again in Japan. SCEJ is really picking up on Home far better than any other region, which many probably hadn't expected. The Namco Beta items are gone (as expected, at least by me) but now there's a huge Namco space full of Arcades, trailers, and what not, and they have a winter themed Home plaza now with a Christmas tree, the Diesel store has been added, that expensive Furniture brand (which also has a free chair and table by the way), etc.

The U.S. gets only a small fraction of that, and the E.U. so far seems to get virtually nothing - some Santa clothes you can buy (and which I've seen several people have in fact bought) and that's about it, though all the locations have been tweaked somewhat because I had to redownload them, including my summer house. My free items from the closed beta that now cost money are still there though.

And indeed, voice chat is gone. But also I had no more trouble logging in, and that's also very important - one colleague whom I had convinced to try Home was pretty turned off by the errors.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot - beards! ;)

Games I bought and tried recently:
Astro Tripper is one to avoid - the controls are really bad. Otherwise it would just be a boring shooter. Now its a boring bad shooter.
Crash Commando - Like quake in 2d. Or Bionic Commando in Death Match mode. Fun!
Puzzle Quest - the hours just pass by, before you know it is morning again. Gets a bit repetetive. No trophies!

Did you buy LocoRoco 2 via PSN, Arwin?

Yeah, I did. I almost regret it a bit though - it's great to have on the memory card, but it's 1.6GB! You better buy the UMD if you don't have a big memory card. I was (and still am) using a 2GB card so that's a bit of a stretch for that card. I may swap out for a 4GB one or get an 8GB for Christmas though, because otherwise it's really quite nice to have full games on the memory card, and this week shows Sony means business, with 3 more PSP games on PSN, as well as the Super Stardust expansion pack (which I just tried - good one to have on MC, as the total game including expansion pack only takes less than 80MB ;) )

The LBP "level" pack is still not on the PSN in Canada...

Edit: It's finally up. When I try to buy though, it tells me "An error has occurred. (80023102)

They make this so difficult...honestly, I don't use the PS3 all that much and it seems like whenever I try to do something I need to sit through 15 minutes of patching, or I get some random error. This is insane. They need to hire competent software developers, truly.

I noticed there's an Indie Games Channel. How long has that been there? And aren't Echochrome and The Last Guy Japan Studio games? How exactly are they indie?

Has anyone tried Crash Commando?

Indie Games Channel has been there since at least the last store update, maybe before. They typically provide some kind of "collection" channel with the store updates. They do this for the Video store as well.

It could be a indie developer that is published by Japan Studio kinda like Everyday Shooter is published by Sony Santa Monica but developed by Mr. Mak. OR it could just very well be the style of game, but I will probably go with the former.

It's sponsored by Mountain Dew, isn't it? I think it's 'indie' more in a promotional way - Mountain Dew, as drunk by independent developers who take no nonsense and live life by their own rules!

How exactly? It looks like it plays more like MP Contra.

I guess it is the pacing of the game, the flying around with the jet packs reminds me of the platform-jump-around in Q3DM17 (or whatever it name was), the game modes are quite basic (death match, team death match, CTF and one other) just like Q3 (CTF wasn't just in Q3Arena right)? The weapons are very quake-like, after a while special armor and weapons spawn too. Some game mechanices are tweaked or different but all of the things I mentioned reminds me of Quake3... which is a good thing!

And I got it for a similar price (99kr Q3 vs 90kr CC) ;)
