PSN not supported by my country/region ???

Wait - am I right in assuming most Euro PSN users use the US store as default? I've been buying from the Aussie store like a sucker.

Seems so ;)

Btw regarding the Trophy sync I think it is a system related error, not a server.

My PS3 Slim syncs perfectly with the Trophies in the server.

My fat PS3 does not. It receives a 7% loading and then gets the error.

How am I supposed to fix this?

My Fat is syncing fine. Haven't patched the other one yet.

I'd say wait for a few days for the dust to settle.

Wow - is there a reasonable set of instructions on how I can do this? Will I lose the content I've bought on my Aussie PSN account or will I be able to sign in with it on my new account too? Any other tips and tricks that I should be aware of here? Is this legal or against EULA? Will it get me into strife?

I think B3D should have a "PS3 tips and tricks" thread for new users. I have found buying and setting up a PS3 far more complicated than I would have thought a home console should be - even stuff like optimised TV settings were tough. Knowing I am getting ripped off on the store would have helped too (Trine is $30AUD, or roughly $33USD) :/ There are so many experts that could answer everything for me before I even started.

Not sure about the if it's against EULA, but I think it's been tolerated so far. I think the main reason why so many EU guys use a US account was because the EU store wasn't updated half as much in the beginning phases like the US one. On the other hand, I would consider yourself lucky that you at least live in a country with just one language. The reason why I buy my contents from the US store, is because I can only get german games from my local PSN. I'm really surprised by this, as surely, there are a lot of english-only speaking people living abroad in different countries. Even so, English should be selectable option regardless where you live, given that's the original language for most games on the market. It's bad enough that some games only come out localised (MW2, CoD, Prince of Persia to name a few) overhere.

Well, there's still amazon luckily.

My slim still does not sync trophies, it stops at about 46% if I remember correctly.

well I updated last night and it took about 5 or 6 syncs to work - each one the progress got a little further...I just think sometimes maybe the updates are taking too long and time out (hence the error) - but I've always managed to finish doing it by just keep trying.

I think it also depends on what and when they were mucking around with the backends. During office hour, I had a hard time login in. After office hour, everything went back to normal.

Everything that is in your HDD and works with your Aussie account will continue to work with your US account

There is no problem to use it so far

You will only have to find a valid US address

Use this

Beverly Hills
LA
California
Postal Code: 90210

Works like a charme for many :)
