A high TV makes sense to have it seen over the crowds - no obscured viewing. It's a bit disappointing the PS3 one isn't on a large 1080p set, but I guess these things have to be in some way affordable ;)

If fakes, they're very extensive.

The base of the PS3 stand looks screwy; that's an extremely odd floor angle... That, or else it's standing tip-toes in that picture to get the monitor up even higher! ;)

Fisheye lens artifact perhaps, but if the thing is so tall you need a fisheye lens to photograph it then maybe people WILL break their necks when using it? ;)

This goes along with the recent Kotaku article about the PS3 kiosk.
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/top/insider-dishes-about-ps3-demo-stations-197547.php

It looked very similar to 360's demo unit. The actual console was in a plastic "bubble" like 360, it was vertical, but it was off center at more of a 45 degree angle to the player so they can see the PLAYSTATION 3 logo and shiny top. It had two controllers. One of the key aesthetic features was a aluminum rectangular piece that went from the top, then curved behind the screen and console, then curved back out at the bottom. On the bottom it featured the old PlayStation logo.

*thx to Titanio for bringing the link to my attention ;p

They could be real for all we know... Not that it matters much, i mean they're bloody kiosks...

The Sony one seems a bit precarious to be honest, but at least it has a Sony LCD S-series which should be the same as the real kiosks get as it's the cheaper one they sell at the moment. They definitely won't put their more higher end and more expensive LCD HDTVs, especially 1080p ones, for a looong time if ever.

A Sony Bravia S-series will do a very very good job at showcasing the PS3 graphics which are afterall still targetting 720p. And still gorgeous for Bluray movies!

What's the smaller screen on top of the Wii kiosks main screen? Or is it a creen? Also why are there some long schticks danglind from the Wiimotes?

It's a screen showing a rolling demo movie I would assume...

It's either there so kids can poke each other's eyes out, or just a device to try and prevent people from stuffing the wiimotes in their pocket and running off with them, you pick your favorite choice. ;)

I think the small screen is there for some online two-player action, that you can actually play online against a person on the Wii kiosk, and see that person on the screen and he can see you too.
So there must be a webcam on that kiosk somewhere.

A functionality that'd be possible at home with Wii and DS.

Similarily, PS3 and PSP could have that functionality also, which would be quite cool.
You could put the DS or PSP beside you on the sofa, and it'd be almost like playing with someone at the same room. If you'd really be prepared to go further, you could buy a doll, rip it's face off and install a DS or PSP in place of the face, and you'd have almost a lifelike gaming companion!

When did we last see red used in the 3's marketing? I would have expected a chrome logo on black. The red drop shadow looks slightly cheap. Overall it looks very cluttered.

It is consistent with current PS2 kiosks, where the console is on a 60 degree angle (or there abouts).

Wii gets my vote for simplicity.

I assume that black bar below the screen is the Wii sensor? I thought it was bigger... Wasn't there talk of problems with fluorescent lighting?

Red and black seems to be the PS3's theme colors as Blue and black was for PS2.

Halogen lights.

It seems the PS3 kiosk is the only one with pamphlets, which would be a good idea to inform the public on what features it has and why they should spend 500-600 on their product. That said, minus the heat bubble, I think the 360 has the best looking kiosk, everything seems slightly more expnsive and centered. Then again I suppose it would help if we see the Wii and PS3 kiosks in person to get a better idea.

Frankly, I have only seen like 1 360 Kiosks that looked like that. Walmart has a real pathetic stuff it in the display case setup for the 360.

The PS3 stand looks pretty good, though it really doesn't match the console at all.

The Wii stand looks like they're selling Tampax or something.

More importantly it's not so effective at close quarters. There'll need to be room between the players and Wii, which isn't how kiosks are ordinarily used.

I've seen something similar. Not sure if it's exactly the same or a different kiosk, but it's uniform in the stores I visit. However when I do see an XB360 kiosk it's almost never on. :???:

Strange, here in London ALL 360 Kiosks are the original standard ones like the one in the picture (or something similar). Then again, i haven't visited any "family run" kind of game shops so things might be different there.
