PS3 dev tools release date

Garnering attention from gamers and developers alike are tools from Ageia, Epic and Havok. From Ageia comes the PhysX SDK physics library, not to be confused with Havok's Complete XS physics engine. Epic will, of course, be delivering the Unreal 3 complete games development framework, which continues to see new product announcements for developers of both Xbox 360 and PS3 titles. Tools from all three libraries will be available to developers starting in October.



SCE also announced today that it has, as of this month, completed acquisition of SN Systems, also promised during the PlayStation Meeting. As a result of the acquisition, SCE will distribute the SN Systems developed ProDG development tools, which provides developers with an integrated development environment to help ease the game development process. ProDG tools will be available in October. PS3 development support will go beyond these four sets of tools. As part of today's announcement, SCE unveiled a tools and middleware licensing program, which will offer technical and marketing support to developers who make their tools and middleware products available on the PS3. The official program will begin on October 1st.

It's good to know the release date of when the developers tools and middleware tools will go out to the developers. Good to be reminded about that complete Havok XS physics engine too. Oh and what about Sony offering technical and marketing support to devs who make their tools and middleware available to every dev on the PS3. Does this mean that if Kojima wanted his engine available for everybody that Sony will give the technical support and also market it too?

I wonder if Sony would pay the devs too? Hmmm... talk about lowering the price for devs to make games on the PS3. The Wardevil guys and other 3 guys making that engine should jump on this quick. I mean why wouldn't they? Free technical support and free marketing, you got to be kidding me.

Is this post in any way shape or form old? Is this just re-posted? Because if not, then my god have i seen this post exactly as it is now in my my 2 times. But the freaky thing is, is that the last time I "saw" this, i thought the exact same thing im thinking now. Its 2 deja vu's. The EXACT same post. Sorry for being all hyper, its just that i've seen this 3 times now in this same form.

But anyways, its good to see them ramping up. I dont see how they are released seeing how its the 30th. Did it mean Oct. 1st Japan time?
