PS3 "CORE" Question

I just noticed that the basic version of the ps3 doesn't come with the memory card reader. How will we transfer game data from one console to another without it

USB to PC or to another PS3, USB flashdrives and other USB memory devices, removeable hdd, and I assume over the network somehow.
