What other features the 60gb model has that the 20gb doesn't?
What kind of media/files can I store in the 60gb model?
Do we know what USB wireless cards work with the PS3 yet? I don't really care about the built-in one if I can use one of the ones I have lying around on a rear USB port.plus the 60GB has chrome finish, thus more shiny shine
And if I've understood correct, the PSP <> PS3 interconnectivity would be much more limited, if not limited only to basic file transfer acting as an mass usb storage like any other, in the 20GB version, due to the missing WiFi.
So, I think no PSP remote play and such in the 20GB version, even if you add a third party ethernet to wireless adapter to the PS3.
Why would lack of wifi interfere with PSP connectivity? If the PS3 is plugged into a network that has wireless elements, and the PSP can connect wirelessly to that network wouldnt that serve the same function? AM i missing something here?
I was wrong, Remote Play operates via infrastructure mode. Here's how it works:I think what you're missing is that the "Remote Play" functionality currently only operates via Ad-hoc WiFi (peer-to-peer). In order for it to work with a wireless router, infrastructure mode would have to be supported by Remote Play. That is currently not the case, but is heavily speculated at (suggested, hinted at, everything short of confirmed) for a future firmware update.
will the ps3 play avi/mpg files?
will the ps3 be able to run a "dvd to avi" conversion app?
the bottomline is, can I get rid of my computer and use only ps3 for almost anything? (internet, mp3, avi, etc. etc).
For one, a proper computer needs some kind of burning capability as essential. DVD/CD burner, etc.
Cool idea. However I'm inclined to say no.

And, unless you already are accustomed to linux, I'm sure there's a million and one windows apps you'll be missing.
Also, I saw a youtube of linux on PS3, and it looked like it was running in 640X480 or something. That would be intolerable.
Still, I like the idea..one day it may become reality. Though I'm not totally convinced.
I was wrong, Remote Play operates via infrastructure mode. Here's how it works:
[*]PSP sets up an additional wireless network connection (why doesn't the PS3 support multiple wireless networks?). The SSID and passkey set in the PS3 are entered here.
[*]Strangely enough, for video clips at least, sound is still output through the PS3 audio connection, as well as the PSP's.
I should also note that I've "activated" both the PSP and PS3 in the Playstation Network account management. I have no idea if that is required or not for Remote Play functionality.
