Video

While at E3, we had the chance to see the exhilarating 10-minute, behind-closed-doors demonstration and just about everything in it wowed us -- the graphics, sound, gameplay, presentation, you name it. Prey takes the DOOM 3 engine and fills it with a wild color palette. It delivers gorgeous natural lighting. And it offers up intriguing and compelling level design. Oh, and there are those kick-ass monsters, brilliant gun fights, and super creepy moments of alien invasion, too. But who cares about that stuff, right? This is the new generation, the "Hollywood Generation." It's all about marketing and perception, baby.

The video looks really good (excellent lighting in some areas... a little too dark/sharp in the first minute or so but it REALLY looks great later). Anyhow, next gen material right here. I could have cared less about Prey until I saw the movie... the enemies look really cool.

So far announced for PC and Xbox 360. I dunno about PS3.

Looks great I think I may like F.E.A.R. better thou. I think the physics and grapics look better in that game instead.

Didn't do it for me either. This Huxley video had me more interested.
yea that game sounds interesting . It has some good ideas for a mmorpg dunno if they will work well in practice but they sound good

The character models seemed like they could have used a bit of work, especially that American-Indian/Yoda mentor figure guy.

chugging along at 13k/sec or so.

I'm getting better than that, but IGN sucks, I mean you can never get more than 80-100K/sec, even if you are insider. They should get more bandwith or something.

This game look to have some pretty nice ideas, do MP have those gameplay too :?: (i.e. portals, gravity changes, walk on wall...)

I got it at 400-500K/s

What the hell :devilish:, I have never gotten over 100K/s, maybe it's because I'm in europe. The vid looked quite interesting.

Yeah sure I'm in France and got it @300KB/s (Ko/s), so blame your internet provider.

Looks interesting.

Well I get good speeds from other places...And I'm not the only here(Finland) that get's crappy speeds from IGN.

You guys must have not seen the hi-res version of that gameplay footage. It's amazing, living weapons, cool sense of enemies at all angles as paths and gravity change around switches and portals. Not sure how this slipped past me but it looks damn good.

it looks cool, have some nice ideas (deathwalk, portal), so yeah i'm looking forward to it
can't say it look really next gen though (although it looks nice enough)
but i have to say this, Quake IV looks less impressive than this, for something that was in the works for such a long time
perhaps it was just the art (direction)

I could be wrong on this, but I am pretty sure that Prey has been in development at least as long as Quake 4. Wasn't it originally supposed to be released as a competitor to Quake 2?
