Power Of Processors

It´s well know that sony claims that cell will have power up to 1 teraflop ( 100 x P4 2.5 ) but what about todays to CPUs and V/GPU how many
gflops they have? will Cell really be that powerfull at the time ( 2006 ).This is apertinent question , anyone can answer this to me?

Noone can answer that without a time machine, shit can happen.

However I CAN answer this, SCE and Toshiba ARE trying to create a Teraflops Broadband Microprocessor for PS3(The BE) IBM has a hand in this too. Billions have and are being spent to try and make this happen and we will find out soon enough if they succeed I guess.

Not anymore. According to Kutaragi Ken's own presentation, it takes a rack full of 64 CELL processors to get to 2 TFLOPS. Your PSX3 won't be packed with 64 CELL processors, so go figure.

But that is like they had more than one Cell chip , because the max is 16 cores per chip , rght?
