I'm due for an upgrade. Should getting the new parts anyday now.........

CPU: Athlon XP 1700+
Mem: 512M mixed brands
Mobo: Abit KR7A
Gfx: Geforce3 Ti200 @230/440
Sound: SBLive! the original, but not best (bought 1998 :) )
HD: 2x 160M Seagate Barracuda 7200.7
CD/CD-R: Lite-On 52X
DVD/DVD+-R: NEC 2510
Case: Antec Sonata v1
Keyboard: Some logitech USB black
Mouse: Some logitech black "pilot"-style optical(real nice for $10, best I've ever had)
Speakers: Logitech 2.1 something or other + connected to HT
NIC: 3com 905TX "Boomerang" (bought 1996 :) )
Monitor: An old Eizo F67 19" after my Nokia 446PRO crapped out(plans to fix it on ice for the moment)
Misc: A Zalman "sandwich" cooler for the gfx, passive heatsink for the northbridge, a huge-ass CPU heatsink w/92mm bracket-mounted fan. Together with the Seagate harddrives a reasonably quiet system, was quite pleased with the reduction in noise.

Heh, three years old and still going strong! Well, that's not entirely true now is it... hehe. I need some upgrading and soon, damnit.

Planned system:
CPU: Venice 3200+
Mem: 2G Corsair VS

M/B: Abit AN8 Ultra looks nice, mebbe ASUS A8N-E

Laptop: Meh, generic Toshiba CeleronM. Too mundane to describe, but I'm happy enough with it. Well, the screen could've been better...

I was  over the obscene price of that G70. . .until I realized there were three of them.

Now I'm just  at someone buying three of them. . .

Tho I'm also reminded that it hasn't been that many years since that kind of bottom line price was pretty typical for buying a top end machine --we really do live in lovely days for buying high-powered computer gear at reasonable prices. For years, some guy at PC Mag or someplace like that had a "law" that stated "The computer you really want costs $5,000."

You still have a TBSC in that set-up? I'm kind of surprised, I expected an Audigy2.

Well. I have been considering upgrading my sound card. Nothing has convinced me too though. I'm sure if someone illustrated and compared the cards showing me that compelling reason. I probably would. But I have really liked the Santa Cruz and sometimes I have trouble "Seeing" the upgrade in sound cards. ;)

no, but after dealing with 3 unreleased card specs at the same time (during the active times... and afterwards I'd say that best times as well, though not so easy always.) and getting grip on those, it's not a big deal search own previous stuff from forum like this. ;)

what comes to my PM box, I had all the messages archived until last week, when I accidentally cleared the received box. I still should have all the old forum Private Messages somewhere, but can't be exactly sure where.
