Okami reviews

This game makes me actually want to pick up my PS2 again based on it's art direction and premise soley. It looks beautiful and it's a great idea!

Rogue Galaxy definately excites me just as much if not more than FFXII, and this is coming from a person who owns every single FF game in the "main series" besides III. The guys at Level 5 have made some awesome RPG's including DQVIII and Dark Cloud 2, and looking at the previews for Rogue Galaxy makes it look like an absolute blast. Plus, I have to admit that lately I'm starting to get into the action RPG games more than the traditional ones...

Oh and since this is a thread about Okami, I'm thinking about picking this game up even though I usually only go for RPG games on a system unless it's around launch time or a game comes out that is different and appealing to me (like Guitar Hero).

Hmm, wonder if these last PS2 games will be compatible on PS3.

Or whether PS3 will play them with "enhanced" graphics.

Aren't ALL games supposed to be "compatible" at the very least? I hadn't heard anything much along the lines of even the minor advancements the PS2 could do to some PS1 games, so I wouldn't expect much in the way of "enhancements."

Excepting perhaps the ability to take screenshots of your gameplay or somesuch. ^_^

Okami = 10/10

I actually picked up the Japanese version of this game the day it came out over here.

I can easily say that, unless you hate games, you will love this game.
It is so extremely well made, everything from the graphics, and sound, to the game flow and intricate intertwining of a massive and charming adventure, with really cool action packet battles (the depth to which the brush is utilized is amazing, and extremely intuitive).

As far as I see it, this is one of the greatest games to come out this generation, and deserves to sell boat loads.

People will undoubtedly compare it to Zelda on the GameCube due to the somewhat similarity in cell shading, and overall massive scale. However, in all honesty I found Okami to be infinitely more entertaining, original, and engrossing than Zelda.

If you buy any PS2 game before moving onto the next generation, this should be one.

I think this is one of the games that seriously make a person think whether or not they're really playing on a 6 yr old console with 32 megs of main ram and 4 megs of vidram. :eek:

I sure hope that this will sell well in addition to being praised by critics.

I just visited gamerankings for something unrelated and was somewhat amused by the front page:

If I recall I think they mentioned that they will try make PS3 display the games at 1080p resolutions
