No FP support in new drivers??? (44.03)

Well they still are in most gamers' machines, so you simply cannot ignore them as a developer. Also people like Carmac and others still seem to hold them in very high regard in terms of driver developement and I guess there is a reason for this. Also with DX8 content finally coming out, it would be hard to argue, imo, that everything is primarilly geared towards gf3.
True, few developers currently care about DX9 features. But their number is growing, and those who do might get a bit nervous on whether NVidia will be able to support those features at all.

There's apparently a requirement that drivers should be able to auto-mipmap surfaces of this type - and the hardware simply can't do it.
Somehow I more and more get the impression he was joking here :D

Geoff Ballew told me a few days ago that the hardware and the drivers supported FP texture formats. But according to DX Caps they do not. I wonder what's up with that.
He was very distinct about it since we also talked about some upcoming driver features as well.

BTW how's this stuff on the Open GL side of things?
