AMD Xilleon panel processors offer motion compensation and frame rate conversion based on AMD's enhanced phase-plane correlation technology, supporting high-quality visual processing for 100Hz/120Hz LCD TVs up to full HD resolution. The key is the processor's ability to identify incoming 24Hz/60Hz film and video signals and convert them to 120Hz by determining motion between picture frames and intelligently creating additional content frames to represent that "in-between" motion with exceptional clarity. To provide greater flexibility for manufacturers to customize their TVs, these AMD panel processors offer a high degree of programmability and can be integrated into the LCD panel subsystem or TV motherboard.

Maybe somebody who's better at judder than I am can tell us if that's much of an advance or not.

It might be for 100Hz panels, but 24*5 = 120Hz so there should be no need on a 120Hz panel...?

It's not a specific remedy for judder (repeating patterns of fast/slow frames making 60fps overall) on 24/60 -> 120, because simply repeating the slow frames more than the fast ones could have the same effect. No motion analysis is required for that.

It's a more general interpolator which cold do general rate conversion, e.g. 60i NTSC video to progressive 100fps for a PAL-oriented TV set.

The motion analysis/interpolation would have to be very good, I'll believe it when I see it. I think a TV with display hardware for 100 and 120fps would be a better solution.

I'm not sure, but I guess Samsung already announced some products based on this Xilleon version.
