how anyone can say that's not impressive is just :?

what other console racing game even comes close? that is truly next gen :)

It's the context,it's a city racing game. For a type of game were you actually go up to the building this would not be the best.Context.

The picture is nice but I would prefer to see a car infront of that backdrop. Also seeing a still image is nice...but in this driving SIM games, you generally don't pay attention to detail like that (As far as the gamer looking at eatch individual window and seeing how nicley rendered it is...it does add to the immersion I guess). I would like to see more or less exotic scenery where your inveloped in the surroundings, like at a Beach or on a Cliff.....

How can you not be impressed?

Do you play video games? Have you seen the graphics we have right now? These graphics are way way way better than anything on current consoles, and you're not impressed?

It looks nearly REAL and you're not impressed?

What would it take to impress you?

I've showed that picture to 3 of my layman friends, and every single one said "Holy Crap, That's amazing"

I think tracks really make a racing game, too many games seem to have these amazing car models, and then craptastic backgrounds. I don't think we need to worry about the car models, they will be fantastic, if the backgrounds look like this it's going to be amazing.

Seriously, a scene like this looking real is not impressive IMO. Its as simple as taking a photo and mapping it texture-by-texture to some simple geometry with some pre-baked lighting. Teh wowzors.

The building geometry does seem much more improved than the previous "boxy" screenshots, though. I hope that they can keep this level of detail up on most of the building.

It's actually a nice arcade game in an urban enviroment.I don't know which cities will be in it besides New york.

I becomes impressive if they get that level of detail in the rest of the city, while staying true to the actual place. That must cost heaps of money.

I've never played PGR but its only based in a city scape? Meh...I couldn't play in a game that only offered me city courses....I want diversity (surrounding wise) in my tracks...

Yep, I agree that that would be quite impressive, but not necessarily technically.

Gotham being the key word here.Cities are actually suprisingly diverse.

Pretty much what I´m saying. It´d be impressive if this detail was consistent throughout the entire city, though.

Is this one of those tricks where you post an actual photograph, and the fanbois from the opposing camp would still say they aren't impressed?

Technically, no, this is nothing new. Well, maybe if the lighting were PRT and would change from day/night cycles it would be slightly new.

The point of the shot, in case you missed it, was to give PGR3 followers something to see. Every week they put up a shot. Remember the pavement shot? The wheel shot? Same thing. Bizarre did not release this to indicate the level of technical wizardry they wield. It's just an insight into what they're working on and what it looks like.

Anyway, I would love to race around cities that look that good. That's a clear step up in detail from PGR2, IMO.

For real.

If you're not impressed by this then I'm speechless. Compare this to the actual photo of the place.

I can't believe some people are bashing it for having too much detail. Unbelievable. Game developers can't win. You give them flat billboard geometry, they bitch and vice versa.

wow, that's insane.

Even the colours of the bricks in teh doorway match, look at the white bricks in the real photo, and in the game photo. Holy crap.

Plius imagine that at 720p instead of a crappy JPEG.

Very nice detail, now this is what I'm expecting from PGR3.

Dont worry, people always find stuff to bitch about.

PS3 has too many ports/connections, 1080p, too powerful and so on.
