I'm trying to overclock my Sempron 3000, but I ran into a problem with my MB. I have a ECS nForce4-A754, and it has HTT settings all the way up to 400Mhz in the bios, the problem is that in reality it's limited to a maximum of 290.6Mhz HTT. If I try to set it higher I still only get 290.6Mhz, giving me a CPU speed of 2615.7Mhz.
Going from 1.8 to 2.6Ghz is not bad, but I suspect the CPU still has more headroom, since it went straight to 2.6Ghz with stock voltage and HSF (except I replaced the sticky goo with Artic Silvers Ceramique)
So my question is, how do I increase the HTT further? I have tried ClockGen, which didn't seem to do anything on my MB, and nTune, which just quit when I tried to enter 'Adjust Motherboard Settings' under 'Manual Tuning' (and I think it doesn't support higher than 250Mhz HTT anyway)
Is there anybody here that has any experience with this MB? Is there any other tools I should try?
