Navy gay joke found in game

I found this hilarious and I had to share it with you guys.

This is my 3rd time playing through Lunar 1.

I'm not sure I get the 'gay navy joke'.

I would have thought it was a "soap on a rope" reference, and I don't think thats particularly navy or gay.

I think it's more of a prison reference.

I think Russ got it, it's a reference to Soap on a Rope, a popular bathroom item during the 20th Century.

Yep, it was just a cheesy gift for the late 70's (I think, man, does that make me feel old to remember it). I think I got my dad one when I was kid. Doh.
