MS buys vivendi games division?

first off, its not true, Its just another one of those insane rumors started by wishful thinking.. but if MS did get Blizzard, I personally am forming a Jihad against MS.. I will Blow up every factory the have... and I'm not even joking, my Blizzard games on my PC mean that much to me, consoling them would be a crime against humanity... anyone who thinks otherwise is twisted and pathetic
No offense Captain, but this is twisted and pathetic.

First, keep in mind Vivendi approached MS for the sale.
Second, what on earth gives you the idea that MS doesn't make PC games? I thought they had a large PC game division that was quite profitable...

If this were to happen, I think Microsoft would play it clever enough to make their console even more attractive. Just look what happened to Halo. From a PC game, it turned into a Xbox flagship title and still hasn't been ported to PC. Who sais Vivendi games will be any different?

With so many game studios struggling besides the big ones (EA, Nintendo etc), is it any wonder we'll see more consolidation of game studios into big companies?

If you asked me in 1999 that Square and Enix would merge, Microsoft would buy Rare , Microsoft would buy Bungie, I would have called you crazy. Yet it's happened.

The question I have, is , if a company isn't surviving, do you still think it's ok for the company to look for financial help from unusual sources? Imagine if Sega was a small studio and Shenmue II was their "big hit"

Just something to think about

BS, We see how MS has @#$%ed the PC market as of lately..
Blizzard is all I am concerned about, if they become part of MS, I
will kill.. Warcraft 4 on a console, Blasphemy...Sick..Horrid....
and the idea gives me Bloodlust..
video games dont give me homicidal tendancys, but @#$%ing me
out of them does..

You must be mad if you're not even thinking remotely logically or reasonably!

I don't understand your anger?

How is Microsoft hurting the PC market? Halo wouldn't have made any difference I don't think. Its nice to see the guys at Bungie getting some big time praise after years of making good games.

Why would Microsoft stop having games made for the PC when they can make a lot of profit from a PC release of Blizzard games? Microsoft is about making money. Do you really think they would stop releasing Blizzard games for the PC, when a game like Diablo 2 was one of the fastest selling games in PC history? Didn't War Craft 3 have several million pre-orders or something?

Agreed.

MS 1st party development is already better than Sony's:

Halo, Amped, Perfect Dark, MechAssault, MS Sports

vs.

Twisted Metal, Gran Turismo, 989 Studios

Picking up Blizzard would be over the top. 8)

nice that you have to cite unreleased MS games and forget LOTS of Sony first party games.

I do not care about MS buying Vivendi since I do not care about PC games (whether they are on PC or console).

Something scares me about the fact that, if M$ buys Blizz and Sierra, my entire life and death will be controlled by the whim of Microsoft.

Come to think about it, thats even scarier when I write it down that way. Eek!

Looks like you do not have a mind strong enough to resist to the dark side of the Force ;)

Hey guys, Does Vivendi own Sierra? Who is it that is doing the Gamecube game "The Hobbit"? Am I confused with another company or is this gonna affect that game?

I dont care about the Market, I care about the Quality of my PC games, if MS got Blizzard, the games would be dumbed down to fit the console, the PC versions would be just as dumbed down, a year late.. etc etc.. WC3 is my favorite game this year, Blizzard is the one company on earth I consider godlike, MS does only care about making money, but right now, all they care about is thier XBox.. I know this whole post is total utter BS, but just the thought of it infuriates me.. if it happened, I'll go ballistic, nuff said...

PC Gamers are a different breed than you all console gamers.. we dont settle for second rate crap, we turn our nose up to Silent Hill 2... the Blair Witch Games were more fun to play..(and thats not a good thing). We would never get excited over a Volleyball game because it has jiggly boobs in it.. thats comes down to the Trailor Park folk who buy beer in a can and buy games like Deer Hunter 8.

In all honesty, I prefer Vivendo software owned by MS than all their previous owners like Havas, vivendi and so on. For them, Blizzard was just a line in a financial report. At least, MS is software maker/console producer.

Attention Chap - your making Lazy8 and PETA look intelligent.

Okay then but i am certain that Sony is done for in Western countries.

Just like afte the launch of Xbox, then the Christmas of 2002... Save this thread... - 2005: Continued Xbox supporter bashing time -

Um, try listing atleast a few more of Sony's good first party software.

PS. We'll see how this turns out. Has potential though.

Really, dude, stop while you're ahead :D

ps: You own a GameCube and an Xbox, yet still consider yourself a "PC" gamer, even though you don't have broadband? Wtf? Where the hell do you live, a Trailor Park?

Console and PC are two different gaming markets, each with different appealing strengths. For instance, PCs have never had fighting games as good as consoles, and consoles have never had real-time strategy and management games as good as PCs. Why can't you just embrace or at least accept the differences of both markets without bashing one of them?

Sigh... MS is going to dumb down Blizzard games? Blizzard bames are already dumed down out of the box. Most MS PC games have more depth then Blizzard's.

ok, so thier bames suck.. but they have the best strategy games in existance..

Lazy- your only backing my point, I want to see them stay seperate, MS doesnt see such divides, they have no qualms with ruining a great PC game just to get the money on thier Xbox.. Halo, fine, Blizzard games on Xbox, not...

Zurich.. What does having Broadband have to do with anything? you do know Broadband isnt widely available, I cant magically make my cable company supply 2-way cable.... I cant magically make the phone company upgrade the lines so that DSL can be offered here.. I have tried and tried, my only option is $150 a month for 56k ISDN(with $1000 install charge), or putting down $1000 to get Satellite, then paying $100 a month for it..
I never said I dont play console games, I dont buy the crap you do though.. I play the crap out of Ghost Recon on PC, but rather have a root canal than suffer through it on an Xbox.. I do get sick of seeing games get no respect when they come out in superiour form, but the moment it comes to Xbox, fanboys start foaming at the mouth

LOL. Compare the depth of Age Of Kings to WarCraftIII. Blizzard has the name recognition, their games come with immense hype, but IMO they are overrated: the sales of their games do not reflect the quality. Warcraft3, for example, was a good RTS game, but by no means the best. Couple that with the fact that they release games once in a blue moon.

You sure are picky on typos, especially for the guy who can't spell "their" or "existence".

it wasnt anything to do with brand naming, WC3 has incredibly depth, you just dont see it in a small amount of playing.. you see it once you get your arse handed to you online, and try to figure out why.. what WC3 had that AOK didnt..fun... its a fun game, pure and simple... and it belongs to the PC crowd, not on a console, no matter how much your blind fanboyism wants to pretend its a good thing
