MPEG1 and Windows Media Problems

I edited a video in Pinnacle Studio 9 and outputted it to an Mpeg video. When I try to play it in Windows Media player it searches for a codec, fails to find one, and continues to play it, sometimes. ( Other times it will look for a codec, fail, and then freeze up or shut down Windows Media Player. Also, I just recently installed Windows Media Player 9 and now there is this little white box in WMP. How do I get it the video to run everytime and get rid of that little white box?

No, I got rid of Windows Media Player 9 and now the little white box is gone, but it still searches for a codec and sometimes will and sometimes won't play. It will play everytime in Quicktime though.

Is it just mpeg files that you have created that it won't play, or is it any mpeg?

Try downloading and installing these and reencoding the video.
