The most frustrating and hardest achievement i have encountered on the X360 (aside from being the worlds best player in GRAW\Quake4) would be the achievement for clearing the airplane on CoD4 in 60 seconds on veteran.

I tried for like 3 hours yesterday managed to get within 3-4 feet of the point where your supposed to shot the final guy with the hostage but each time i managed that time ran out or i got shot in the back. This level is all about timing and luck, maybe luck wasn't on my side yesterday... grrrrrr.

Anyhow, what is your hardest achievement that you have gotten or failed getting?

Actually that wasn't as hard as I thought at first

just time your enterances effectively and use the stuns well, you will get quite far.

Dead Rising:

9. Tour Guide
TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Escort 8 survivors at once.

10. Frank the Pimp
TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Simultaneously escort 8 female survivors.

14. Saint
TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get at least 50 survivors out of the mall.

I'm sure someone has done it, but the survivors just seem far too stupid for it to be possible.

Through Fire and Flames on expert in Guitar Hero 3. Frankly most of the GH3 achievements require you to just be just amazing at the game.

i was close to do it till the survivors went to the crazed yellow guys instead of following my directions.

i lost all hope there and never tried again.

Jesus.

Achievements like that piss off the Insane Completionist Dude in me, as there's no way possible for me to ever get that good, period. Frankly, putting Achievements like that in a game is basically saying to those who buy your games "You suck. You'll never get this, ever, and it will stick out at you every time you play this game."

Gears of War has a pretty tough one, "seriously", which is 10,000 kills in ranked matches online. Ranked matches are some pretty tough competition usually and kills are a lot harder to come by in a Gears than a Halo or Quake that has respawn on death.

Gears achievements system is wonky, so in reality it could be a thousand or two either side of the mark before you get it.

Nothing can be as bad as becoming Online World Ranking No.1 in GRAW/2.

Wow ... That has to be at the top. If you bought the game day1, it might have been possible as that title would have switched hands many times. You'd still have to play all day or something. Within' a couple days, not a chance in hell.

Let's not forget the obvious. Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja. Credit to the handful who'll actually pull this off.

I like the ones Geometry Wars has, they require pure skill instead of "just" a large time investment. Still working on the 1.000.000 points without dying achievement...

Marble-fu transcendant achievement in Marble Blast Ultra. Holy crap. Without a doubt, the hardest 35 points I ever earned. Finishing the last stage within the time limit is just about fricken impossible. I'd actually be curious to know how many people have actually unlocked that sucker.
The "mile high club" thing in COD4 was pretty hard too, but I thought the "one shot, one kill" level was actually worse. I think that was the name of it. The ferris wheel part.

Oh come now, at least they don't require you to complete it without dying or without using ninpo. ;)
...

In general though, I'm against having a significant portion of the achievements be dedicated to online events. That said, I thought Halo 3 had a decent balance - 900 points attainable through offline. I would much prefer to view the achievements list as a guide to things that are fun to do during normal play. Even better when it doesn't require grinding.
