Microsoft releases HD Xbox 360 Trailers

the requirement to hd-wmv gpu acceleration to work is the videos to be with 30fps or less , it seems those xbox vids are 60fps and thus not working with gpu acceleration.

How can we get them to run at 30 fps?
Beats me. I tried everything, and they are still stuttering to no end. Anyway, not much to see in most of them anyway. We need 720p vids of GoW, and that's it. :D PEACE.

Oh.
Fucking weak.
Why did they put them at 60 fps?
They say you only need a 3ghz computer to play the videos.. haha.. my axp@ 3200+ speeds can't play it for shit.
Well I'm converting a few to 29.97 fps using the windows media encoder.

Probably because all Xbox 360 games are locked at 60fps.

If you really want to watch them you can re-encode them using "TmgEnc"

A google should net you where to find and download this Pegasys product. There are free versions, retail versions, and other versions.

I re-encoded Ign's masterbit theater vid of DOA4 so that it played at 30FPS. I lost no quality whatsoever and now my rig could now play the vid at full speed. I also did this with Halo2's X02 trailer.

It will however take time to re-encode these vids and probably a good amount of space on your hard disk. So you'd better really want to watch them if you decide to do this. My suggestion is the batch encode them over-night, delete the old vid files and watch your re-encoded goodies in the morning when you wake up.

maybe you guys should try "bsplayer"?

These all play fine on my A64-3000+. They only choked up when the sytstem copied one of the downloads from temporary IE files to my desktop.

They play fine on my barton@2ghz with windows media player as long as I don't have much else running, but even when I am running enough else to make them choppy, media player classic played them fine. So yeah, bsplayer or media player classic will probably do the trick for those of you having trouble.

Is there a way for you to do that and then repost them back here, so we can enjoy? :)
It would take a while to upload using my 512K upload.
But if you guys don't wanna convert the videos, I'll upload the call of duty one.
Total time to encode should be around 45 minutes on my wimply axp@ 2.1 ghz.
With an a64 it would be much faster I think, and with a P4, it will no doubt be tons faster.
They skipped in media player classic also.
I cant even play the 30fps 720p videos in mpc without audio skipping.
Oddly cpu usage isn't pegged, so not sure what's up with that?

I downloaded Condemned which was around 70MB. I'm converting it to 11 MB 1.5Mbps WMV. It'll take around 40 min on my 600MHz P3. ;)

Um 1.5mbs?
You convert it to lower res or something?
Cuz 1.5mb/s at 1280x720 will look awfull.
Uploadig call of duty, ws_ftp says it will take 16 minutes.

lol, what's the point of downloading highdef trailers when youre gonna compress them 10x?

bsplayer or mediaplayer classic, try that first.

I converted them to 856x480. It really doesn't look that bad.
