There's plenty of ammo in the game. In fact, regarding all the pre release stuff about the game not having enough ammo, I actually think there was too much. At the end of the game I had over a thousand rounds of 5.45 (including currency), over a hundred 44., and about 50 shells (fully loaded grenades and knifes as well). I wouldn't worry about ammo being a problem.
