Mayan Riviera

I just returned from a week at the Copacabana Beach Resort in the Mayan Riviera. If anyone is considering going to the area you will have a good time. The beach was great with white sand and no rocks. The water was as clear as Evian water. Since my wife and I were travelling with our two small children we did not tour at all but rather played at the beach all day and enjoyed the nightly entertainment at the resort. One evening we went to Playa del Carmen. What a fantastic town, 5th Ave is full of beautiful shops restaurants and nightlife. The people were very friendly and hospitable. The town did not look to suffer any ill effects of the hurricane.

Just a word of caution for anyone considering going. Many of the resorts there are very large, >1000 rooms. So while even though you may be at a beach front resort you may still have a ten minute walk to get to the beach. Also I was told that Cancun was still in rough shape after the hurricane and should be avoided.
