Kingdom Come: Deliverance II [XBSX|S, PC, PS5]

Even a toaster will be able to move Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 thanks to this mod, if you don't care if it looks like a half-finished game.

This might sound odd, but tbh, wish many other games had an option like that, so we couldn't say modern games aren't optimised.

has that everquest 1 vibe

Probably over aggressive I'm guessing on the texture LoD levels and looks worse as the art design wasn't done with such a low texture solution in mind.

But otherwise the graphics are way better better than EQ1. Even EQ2 barring the art direction/low texture issue. Polycount is probably still a few orders of magnitude higher.

Damn game looks amazing on XSS ;) Anyway i was watching some streamers yestary curious if this game is for me and man they nailed it. Looks so fun to play.

I'd like an analysis on the reflection tech of the game from one of you guys, thanks.

Is it, for instance, still as buggy as in here?

Believe it or not that's what it's supposed to look like. SSR is one of the most bogus graphics features. Looks great in screenshots and completely awful in gameplay. I would rather the water just be blue than look like a mushroom trip.

What version of CryEngine is the game based on? If it's 5.5 or newer why aren't they using software-based ray traced reflections? Too expensive?

So far I'm pretty luke warm on the game as a whole. The UI and menus are an improvement. The graphics are good and consistent (lacking noticeable LOD pop-in from KCD1). The systems feel more complex and more thought-through. But the story, dialogue, and VO are a noticeable a step down from KCD1. I just don't care about the inciting incident during the prologue, I didn't feel engaged or convinced by the Hans/Henry rift, and most of the dialogue I've heard so far sounds like a badly dubbed foreign film. The cadence and tempo of speech sounds stilted and unnatural to the point where I kind of dread interacting with new NPCs.

Restarted my gameplay like 5-6 times now, trying to make sure I get a good start and trying to get used to the combat system/game mechanics.
Found out I dislike the dice mini game just as much as I disliked the Gwent mini game in TW3 :nope:

Running on "experimental" and spotted some lighting/shadow bugs here and there, I would really have liked them to implement RT in the game and HDR.

Did a driver overide (for DLAA), makes the game hover around 60-65 fps @ 4K
Comparing to TW3 remastered, TW3 comes out on top (when using RT) for visual quality.

Something is really off with the reflections in this game.
Was riding a horse going down a hill, a lake was 100-150 meter away below me, suddenly there was a reflection of a branch on a tree...like it was 2 meter away from me.
Totally killed the immersion.
Talk about reflection artifacting

yeah ssr sucks

yeah ssr sucks
It was even worse...the reflection in the lake (being 100-150 meter away) was like the water was 1 meter away from my character.
I have infact closed down the game, because it has been years since I have seen such bad shite in games I play.

yeah thats what screen space reflection does, it interferes with stuff nowhere near the reflective surface

stalker 2 is full of it as well

anyone else get flickering vegetation when it rains? its very unsettling, makes me think my eyes or monitor is broken

Does the water look okay if you turn off SSR? I'm hoping there's some kind of fallback since I despise SSR.
