Is anyone else curious what halo 3 online is about?

I don't see what the problem is, Halo isn't the type of game that you can play one map over and over so it's not going to ruin it for too many people. I'm worried about people giving bad rep now because of "cheating" though. I'm just interested in what the X button does, would suck if the glitches weren't fixed until the game comes out though.

The only thing i dont like about the idea is that it kinda spoils the surprise of the game, the graphics, the whole 'wow' of it all, before its time. I understand the need for proper beta testing but theres something pure about the anticipation of a flagship title and having sprung on the whole community at once.

Exactly!

You're still going to see the graphics engine, become familiar with the gameplay feel, etc before the game is out.

So do not ruin it for yourself and stop looking at it. Its amazing simple to not look it up or even click on Halo 3 posts here or wherever.

Maybe you could read my 400 previous posts where I mention that "having said all that" I will still rush to play the beta.

Besides, if a demo comes out, even if you dont play it, you will learn a lot about the game by forum osmosis.

Then just let others find the bugs and do all the playtesting for you. You'll end up with a better game for it.

For some people playing in a beta test or demo is just another taster for the full game that excites them more, gives them a little taste of what's to come, just like an interactive trailer. Plus it gives them an edge on everyone else who's waiting for the full game as they get some early playtime in.
