Nice article, thanks for the link. Seems like 4GB might still be a limiting factor, but to their point, it seems to become a chokepoint at levels where the overall GPU demand is so high that it no longer really matters.
DX12 arguably has some ways to make this less of an issue, although with the additional abilities may also come additional resource ask. I'm curious to see how the first round of "real" DX12 games turn out.
